Poland’s pre-eminent Kletzmer band, Max Klezmer Band, was formed at the end of 1998 by its leader Max Kowalski. Their work fuses traditional Jewish music with jazz, linking traditional themes, improvisation and the band’s own compositions. They play regularly in Poland and Europe (Sweden, Belarus, Latvia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Germany, France, Belgium), and have worked with various famous Polish musicians. Each member of the band also plays in their own separate projects.
